An extraordinary foray into Italian design
A collection displayed at the Museo del Design 1880-1980 in Via Borsi, Milan, celebrates 100 years of history through the masterpieces of the greatest designers on the international stage. With funding from Expo in Città, the Commune of Milan and the Region of Lombardy, the exhibit offers a historical journey - as conceived by museum founder Raffaello Biagetti (Florence 1940 - Ravenna 2008) - from the Art Nouveau era to the seventies and beyond. It covers the story of the companies representing the best 'Made in Italy' in the field of design and its related sectors. Among these is Canepa, which has a dedicated furnishing fabrics division and has played an important role for over 50 years in producing high quality textiles bearing the 'Made in Italy' label. This exhibition of the history of design presented by the Museo del Design 1880-1980 is housed in Milan thanks to the Musei Italiani, whose aim is promote Italian cultural heritage, with the help of Faram 1957 S.p.A., a company operating in the field of office design.
