The circular economy in the textile industry
A talk at Première Vision Paris
The circular economy in the textile sector was the central theme of a debate held at Première Vision Paris. The French event continues to give more and more space to the topics of recycling, energy saving and sustainability in the fashion industry, involving exhibitors, designers, buyers and fashion brands who, like Canepa, are constantly implementing new processes to reduce the impact on the environment, the use of harmful substances and the consumption of energy and water throughout the production chain. During the discussion, the book “Neo-materials in the circular economy” (edizioni Ambiente) was presented – edited by Marco Ricchetti with a preface by Claudio Marenzi, President of Pitti Immagine. It regularly cites SAVEtheWATER Kitotex®, the patent developed by Canepa in collaboration with CNR-ISMAC Biella, as one of the most interesting case studies in the search for new materials with a view to creating a sustainable fashion sector. The talk, hosted by Giusy Bettoni, featured contributions from the author, Marco Moro from Edizioni Ambiente, Andrea Crespi from Eurojersey, Anna Maria Rugarli from VF International and Alfonso Saibene Canepa, supply chain manager of Canepa SpA.
