Canepa, a 2015 positive balance
Environmental protection is a formidable asset
Another positive year for Canepa, which ends 2015 with a turnover of €107 million, up 3% on 2014. Exports had a significant effect on this, representing 52% of the turnover, with the American market now worth around 15% of the overall takings. Undoubtedly, the savings of water and energy contributed to this success thanks to the production of textiles using the SAVEtheWATER® process as well as the introduction of other environmentally-sustainable processes which now characterise the majority of Canepa’s products. Indeed, as certified by Bureau Veritas, as a result of this patent, water savings of 90% and electrical energy savings of 60% are now possible, as well as a total elimination of PVA – a substance responsible for the serious problem of micro-plastics being released into the atmosphere and oceans. In 2015, overall water savings were equal to 230,000m3, while energy savings amounted to 1,230,000kw. In economic terms, this equates to around €350,000. These numbers give cause for optimism for further growth in 2016.
